After securing their Premier League status, the Rovers boss reveals he is in the market for two forwards and a midfielder
Keane faces stern opposition from La Liga teams to sign the Hamburg striker who enjoyed an illustrious career at Manchester United before later moving to Real Madrid.
The Rovers manager is also determined to get young Canadian winger Junior Hoilett to sign a new contract and will talk to his father - the midfielder's adviser - to sort out contract negotiations.
"I believe Ruud is talking to a couple of clubs in Spain at the moment, but it is still a possibility for us," Keane said according to the Daily Mirror.
"We are interested. We need two strikers and a midfielder.
"I will head over to see Junior's dad in the next couple of weeks. We are all desperate to get something sorted out.
"Junior wants to stay, he is playing well and on a good run of form. He is enjoying his football, scoring goals and being a matchwinner.
"He can become a really top-notch player, he can go all of the way and become one of the really special players in this league."
