Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Hoilett has revealed that he wants to extend his contract at Ewood Park, after becoming a first team regular under Steve Kean.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form recently and he revealed that he has enjoyed playing under Kean’s management.
"My time at the club has changed a lot. I am on the field more and I am enjoying my football,” he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
Despite admitting his frustrations at a lack of playing time at points during his Rovers career, the young Canadian also added that he is already looking forward to next season, and securing a new contract with the club, with just 12 months remaining of his current deal.
"Of course when you are not playing and don't know if you are going to come on and get any minutes it is frustrating. Of course you get frustrated, especially as a young kid you want to play.
"Steve Kean has been great for me, I have enjoyed the experience and I am looking forward to pushing on next season.
"Hopefully we will get something sorted [new contract]. Of course I am happy with the club, I am enjoying myself and I am happy here."
