thumbnail Hello,

Spaniard believes the Latics are in a strong financial position and that, even if they go down, their key players will stay as they are contractually committed to the club

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez believes that most of his squad will remain at the club even if they are relegated to the Championship.

The Latics are currently sitting in 19th position in the Premier League, and have an away game on Sunday to determine whether or not they will get to compete in the top-flight next season.

But the Spaniard expects that the club will keep a majority of the squad even if they suffer the heartbreak of a final day demotion.

"We have very good financial stability at the club and we have got a playing squad in which everyone is under contract," said Martinez, according to The Daily Mail.

"We have had two loan players that have had a massive impact this season, but when you have got loan players you can only make sure they are attached to the football club, enjoy their football and always have memories in the future."
