Tottenham are leading the race to sign Lille forward Gervinho ahead of numerous Premier League rivals, according to The Daily Mail.

Since starring for the Ivory Coast in last summer’s World Cup, Gervinho has enjoyed an impressive year for Lille, scoring 15 goals, and he is now set to be the subject of a mass bidding war between Premier League clubs this summer.

Harry Redknapp went to watch Gervinho in the French cup final last weekend and was impressed with what he saw, especially as the forward scored.

The 23-year-old is rated at £10 million and can have his pick of clubs with Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal as well as Spurs all reportedly sending scouts to watch Gervinho.

Redknapp is keen to strengthen his attacking options this summer and with doubts over the futures of current strikers Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe, the Tottenham boss is also watching Espanyol forward Pablo Osvaldo as he looks to build a side to finish in the top four next season.
