Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp: We need a miracle to finish fourth in the Premier League

Spurs manager admits his side’s chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League are very slim, with Manchester City six points ahead with three games to go
Harry Redknapp has admitted that Tottenham need a "miracle" if they are to finish in the top four this season.

Spurs, who are currently six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with three games to go, face Roberto Mancini's side at Eastlands on Tuesday.

In the three games remaining, even two victories for Spurs and as many losses for City may not be enough for the north London outfit to finish fourth, as Roberto Mancini's men have a significantly superior goal difference.

And now Redknapp has all but conceded defeat in the race to fourth place, as he is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "I think City have got a fantastic squad. They’re in a great position.

"Six points [ahead], better goal difference by miles. It will take a miracle."

The former West Ham boss also hinted that it will be difficult for Spurs to finish in the top four next season.

"As I’ve said a million times, who is going to drop out?" he said. "I don’t think Man United are going to drop out of the top four.

"Chelsea, I don’t think they’re going to drop out.

"Arsenal have been there every year. Who is going to come out?

"City, they’re going to spend another £200 million probably this summer. Liverpool are going to improve.

"So it’s very hard to get into that top four, very, very difficult."
