Deja vu as the Premier League rivals square up at Eastlands a year on from their last battle, which Spurs edged 1-0 on the night, for the final Champions League place
Twelve months on from their dramatic showdown, the Champions League hopefuls meet once again to dispute the honour of fourth place. In that time Spurs have enjoyed a memorable run in Europe and had a player crowned the footballer of year while Manchester City have reached the FA Cup final after splashing out even more millions.
Unlike last year it's the Citizens who have the advantage for this contest. Roberto Mancini's team were trailing the north Londoners by a single point before losing 1-0 at Eastlands a year ago. Now they have a six-point lead and a victory will close the gap on an ailing Arsenal in third place.
Man City Tips
Since that defeat last May the Citizens have lost only twice at home in all competitions. They've won the last six on the spin with five of those all being to nil and are a very worthwhile 3.50 to do the same against Spurs.
Carlos Tevez remains doubtful and will only feature in the FA Cup final if he sees any action in this game. He's 2.20 to score anytime with Mario Balotelli looking the better bet @ 2.90 to be on the mark.
Spurs will be without Gareth Bale and there are concerns over the fitness of last year's hero Peter Crouch. Harry Redknapp's team have a superb record against Man City and haven't tasted defeat against their Tuesday opponents in five games.
Since beating AC Milan at San Siro the one-time title aspirants have fallen off the wagon. Just one win in 12 games across all competitions has been recorded by Spurs since that great night in Italy so your best bet is to back against them. You'll get City @ evens (2.0) to win and a shorter 1.42 on the draw no bet line for City.
Tottenham's desire for a double dose of the Champions League is over. Even Harry Redknapp admits it will take a "miracle" to finish in the top four. With Heurelho Gomes gifting presents on a weekly basis you wouldn't fancy them to leave Eastlands with anything.
Playing against a side with a formidable home record, and who aren't shipping goals, the smart money is on City to gain their revenge for last season.
Unibet Tip: Man City to win without conceding a goal @ 3.50
Mario Balotelli to pick up a yellow or red card @ 2.55
* Talented but temperamental striker has clocked up 10 yellows and two red cards this season.
