Fulham midfielder Damien Duff undergoes operation on troublesome Achilles injury

Republic of Ireland international hasn't played for Cottagers for a month and will now miss the rest of the season as he recovers from the persistent injury
Fulham's Damien Duff won't be back for club or country until next season after Manager Mark Hughes confirmed the winger has had an operation on an Achilles injury.

Duff hasn't featured for the Cottagers since the beginning of April after suffering with the injury for weeks has gone under the knife and will need six weeks to recover.

Hughes told reporters: "Damien Duff has had an operation on his Achilles.

"The view is that he'll be [needing] probably a six-week recovery and then he'll be fit and well for next season."
