Wayne Rooney wants Manchester United to clinch Premier League title with two games to spare by beating Arsenal & Chelsea

England international hopes the Red Devils can secure their record-breaking 19th title in style by eliminating their two London-based rivals, one after the other
Wayne Rooney is hoping that Manchester United beat Arsenal and Chelsea to wrap up the race for the Premier League title with two games to spare.

The Red Devils are currently three points ahead of Chelsea - albeit with a game in hand - and nine ahead of Arsenal, whom they meet today at the Emirates.

A victory over the Gunners would effectively knock the north London club out of the title race, while a win over Chelsea the following week would see Sir Alex Ferguson's men clinch the Premier League.

"Arsenal is a massive game for us and hopefully we can do well again there," Rooney said, according to The News of the World.

"I hope we can win the title in the grand manner.

"It would be fantastic to beat Arsenal and then Chelsea at home and win the League with two games left.

"But they are two top teams and we have to be professional in the way we approach them. I am surprised we have been able to draw away a bit at the top but the whole season has been crazy.

"We've managed to get some consistency now. We always seem to be able to do that after Christmas and hopefully we've got that now and we can push on."
