Veteran given oxygen on Emirates pitch having suffered major collision with John Flanagan during match-up with Arsene Wenger's men
The players called for the medical team straightaway after the collision and the defender was rolled onto his back. A neck brace was then applied and Carragher was also given oxygen as he lay prone.
The 33-year-old was then stretchered off, to a huge ovation, to be replaced by Sotirios Kyrgiakos after a break in play of six minutes.
The club then tweeted, via their official Twitter page, that the defender "has concussion but is okay - conversing with our medical staff in the Emirates."
Carragher also went out of the tunnel at the full-time whistle to greet goalscorer Dirk Kuyt with Reds fans undoubtedly hopeful the centre-back will be back in contention for the club's next fixture against Birmingham City on Saturday.
