Michael Owen has stated on Twitter that he will score a big goal for Manchester United during their massive run-in to the season.
The ex-England man has been a perennial benchwarmer for much of the season with the imperious form of Premier League top scorer Dimitar Berbatov, resurgent Wayne Rooney and bargain Chicharito as much to blame as Owen's suspect fitness.
Yet with Manchester United still fighting on three fronts, their resources will be stretched to the limits in the forthcoming weeks and it is possible that the 31-year old could have the odd cameo.
Despite his lack of first-team action, Owen his confident that he can rediscover his goalscoring knack at a crucial time for the treble-chasing club.
"As I've already said, don't know where, don't know when, but there is an important goal to come from me this season - mark my words!!!", he Tweeted earlier.
A deserved win over Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this evening ensured Manchester United's progress into the final four of Europe's elite contest.
Owen did not make the Red Devil's matchday squad for the tie but was nevertheless impressed with his team-mates' performance.
"Deserved our win over the 2 legs with 2 impressive displays. Looks like Schalke in the semis. Team are peaking at the right time," he shared on the social networking site.
