Gunners boss pleased to see striker recover as 'key players' will define his side's season with their performances in the final matches of the campaign
The Dutchman has shaken off a knock picked up whilst playing for Holland's 5-3 victory over Hungary on Tuesday evening.
Van Persie opened the scoreling that night before having to go off, with what appeared to be another injury setback for the Gunners. But Wenger insists that the striker will be fit to feature in the clash against Steve Kean's side.
"He's alright, he will be in the squad. He had a test this morning and felt alright so if he feels no reaction overnight he should be ok," Wenger told reporters.
"I'm an optimist so always I hoped it would not be too serious and that was the case. For once we had good news."
And the Frenchman believes Arsenal's remaining fixtures will define their season, as they look to prevent Manchester United from claiming a record-breaking 19th title, a feat which will see them overtake rivals Liverpool.
"I think what will decide our season now is our performances until the end of the season and therefore you want of course your key players."
