National team coach thinks Santos star who stole the show with two goals in a friendly victory over Scotland would benefit from playing in England's top flightBrazil coach Mano Menezes would welcome a move to the Premier League for striker Neymar as the Santos forward has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent months.
Neymar lit up north London on Sunday with a brace in Brazil’s victory over Scotland at the Emirates Stadium and his coach believes a move to England at this point would confirm the 19-year-old’s development.
"I think that [playing in the Premier League] could only be good for Neymar as it would be confirmation of his development," Menezes said.
"English football would make him stronger and help to escape strong marking. I don't see any problem.
"But Brazil fans will be deprived of watching a good player."
Neymar appears to be very much a part of Menezes' plans for the future of the national side, but he also suggested the door was not completely closed for the likes of Kaka and Ronaldinho to break into the squad for the Copa America.
Asked if the stalwarts could make the summer tournament, Menezes said: "There is a possibility for changes. But the good sense says that the calls for future games will be the closest possible to this squad.
"Also, because these matches can work as a preparation for the competition."
