Defender admits Spaniard is having a hard time but believes the striker is a 'very special player'
The Spaniard has failed to find the net in the seven games he has played for the champions since his £50 million move from Liverpool on the last day of the January transfer window.
However, Luiz who also joined Carlo Ancelotti’s side in January believes once he gets his first goal he will return to his best goalscoring form.
Luiz told the Daily Express: "It's not just because he's Fernando Torres but, for any forward, it's really hard when they don't score.
"I am sure that, as soon as the first goal comes, he will score loads of them because Fernando is a very special player."
The Brazilian defender, who himself has scored twice since his transfer from Benfica, thinks the Spaniard’s attitude in training and his all round character has helped him endear himself to his new team-mates
Luiz added: "We all see Fernando working hard, day by day, a really professional guy, such a kind man and a great personality.”
The Spanish striker's lack of goals has seen him fall down the Castrol EDGE Rankings from a ranking of 7 in May 2010 to a current position of 55.
