Liverpool are reportedly set to make Aston Villa's Ashley Young their top target in the summer transfer window.
The Reds bought Andy Carroll for £35 million from Newcastle United in January, and are understood to be looking to exploit his aerial prowess by bringing in players capable of supplying him with crosses from wide areas of the pitch.
Accordingly, The Mirror reports that the Merseyside outfit will make Young their prime target, encouraged by reports that the Villa winger turned down a new contract offer from his employers.
At the end of this season, Young will have only a year left to run on his current Villa contract.
Former Watford star Young is currently placed 413rd in the Castrol Rankings, and is the fourtyh-highest placed Villa player at the moment, behind Jean Makoun (383rd), Darren Bent (214th), and Stewart Downing (129th).
