The Portuguese midfielder joined the Reds in an £11.5 million deal from Porto, as a replacement for Alberto Aquilani - who had moved on loan to Juventus. And the 27-year-old has gone on to become a fans' favourite with his recent goalscoring heroics.
The experienced Portugal international has scored five goals in his last seven games for the Merseyside outfit, and during this period the Reds have not lost when the midfielder has got his name on the scoresheet.
"I always dreamed of playing in the Premier League," Meireles told The Telegraph.

"The supporters. Wow. I want to win every game because they deserve it."
He added: "When Liverpool make you an offer, there is only one answer
"When my agent told me it was a possibility, I said I go now. Now."
The midfielder's first season at the club has seen the side battling in the relegation zone, the mid-table, and now for a Europa League spot. But he remains hopeful that the gradual ascent will continue.
"This is a difficult year," said Meireles. "New coach, new players. But I think next year we will have more chance to fight for better places. It takes time to be perfect.
“The fans had stopped believing in the team. Now, with Kenny, they sing his song 10 times every game. Unbelievable.”
