Frank Lampard believes Chelsea are back in the title race after 2-1 win over Manchester United

Midfielder converts late penalty to seal come-from-behind success
Frank Lampard has warned that Chelsea are not going to give up their Premier League title easily after they came from a goal down against Manchester United to claim all three points in an enthralling game at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea went behind through a Wayne Rooney goal in the first half but a first goal for January signing David Luiz and a Lampard penalty turned events around.

The defending champions are still 12 points behind leaders United, who are also four points clear of Arsenal, but Lampard believes Chelsea - who have a game in hand - are still in the title race.

“We’ve closed that gap today, there’s still a long way to go, Man United are still deservedly top of the league, but we’ve showed there’s some fight in us as we’ve shown tonight,” Lampard told Sky Sports.

Lampard’s penalty in the 78th minute sealed the result for Chelsea and the England man remains confident that strikers Fernando Torres, Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba - who again started the game on the bench - will start finding the net regularly again.

He added: “It’s a signal today, we went down 1-0 and with the three up front [Fernando Torres,  Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka] if the rest of us can do our job we’ve got a chance.”
