A move could come to light in the summer
Cana joined Sunderland in 2009 and went on to captain the side on a number of occasions but opted leave after just one season after citing a desire to leave England.
This reportedly did not stop the likes of Aston Villa submitting a bid for his services last month, but Cana’s father confirmed that all bids were refused point blank but also hinted that a move could be possible come the summer.
"Many clubs were after Lorik," Cana Snr told BotaSport.
"He could have gone to Italy, as Lazio wanted him, but there was also an interest from England.
"Aston Villa, Bolton and Fulham all wanted him, but Galatasaray said no."
Cana Snr says that his son was not looking to leave Gala at the moment.
"Even Lorik wasn't really opened for that kind of move in the winter," he said.
"But maybe something will happen in summer."
