Carroll, who has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season, as well earning his first England cap, is thought to be happy at St James' Park but with reported bids of £30 million being considered by a number of clubs, it is unlikely that the Magpies would be in a position to reject such a substantial sum.
However, the north London club's interest has waned recently, as Goal.com UK exclusively revealed less than a fortnight ago.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane but Redknapp has stated that although admiring the player, he has no intention of making a move for his signature.
The Tottenham manager told Sky Sports News: "He's a good player, he's a handful, you'd like to have him in your team.
"But we are nowhere near getting Andy Carroll. How much is he? You are talking £30m to £40m."
