Gervinho appears to be on his way out of Ligue 1 table toppers Lille after Liverpool tabled a first offer for the tricky attacker, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Reds have been in disappointing form in the 2010-11 campaign and manager Roy Hodgson is desperate to strengthen his attack in the winter transfer window. The former Fulham boss supposedly sees Gervinho as the perfect addition to his front line.
Liverpool are believed to have made a €12.5 million (£10.6m) offer for the 23-year-old attacker, but it remains to be see whether Lille are willing to part company with their star player for such a relatively low fee.
Gervinho started his professional career with Belgian side Beveren before moving to Le Mans in the summer of 2007. He joined Lille in 2009 and has since developed into a key player at the Europa League hopefuls.
The Ivory Coast international has also been linked with moves to CSKA Moscow, Bayern Munich and Tottenham.
