Roberto Martinez has refuted speculation suggesting that Charles N’Zogbia and Hugo Rodallega will leave Wigan Atheltic in January.
The players have been influential in the campaign so far and are the club's joint top goalscorers this season with four apiece. Reports had indicated that the Wigan stars were transfer targets for rival clubs but Martinez has rejected such talk and has insisted that the players will not be leaving the DW Stadium.
"At the moment there is no real truth in it, the window hasn't opened yet,” Martinez told Sky Sports News.
"We are not going to stop any rumours or any media speculation. If there is anything else the fans will be the first ones to know.”
With Wigan in the Premier League relegation zone heading into a crucial festive period, Martinez has stated that he would rather concentrate on football matches and admits that his players can’t afford to get distracted.
"The players are very aware that the games that we have got in this period are vital for our season and that is where the focus and concentration goes," he added.
"The focus goes to the games that we have got ahead of us. Sunday is a massive, massive game, and it would be a big mistake for us to look ahead and think about players who could come in or who could leave.”
He added: "Every point in the Premier League is so important and our focus goes to Sunday, nothing else."
