Dinamo Zagreb vice-president Zdravko Mamic claims that Chelsea's top transfer target is Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.
The 25-year-old Croatian came through the ranks at the Zagreb-based club, and spent six years plying his trade in the first team. And it is thought that Mamic was the one who carved out the playmaker's £16.5 million transfer to Spurs.
The midfielder had a difficult period early on in England, but has since made his mark as a top notch midfielder in the Premier League.
"I was with [Chelsea manager Carlo] Ancelotti for lunch. I was very proud when I heard what he said about Modric," Mamic told The Sun.
"Luka is top of his list, his first pick when it comes to new signings.
"I'm not Modric's agent, I am just his friend, but I am very proud.
"I don't want to say anything more because I don't want to upset my friends at Tottenham."
