South African feels Moyes is to become one of the best managers in the world

Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar is hoping that finance will be supplied to help strengthen the squad in order for them to challenge for a place in the Premier League’s top four.

The Toffees lie in 15th position this season after a run of seven games without a victory, while only winning three times all season has left them struggling near the bottom.

But despite their precarious league position this season, Everton have done well under the management of David Moyes and have finished in the top 10 in six of the last eight seasons — although in 2005 they topped such achievement by sneaking into the top four.

Moyes has had a pretty modest budget compared to some of the other big clubs in the division but Pienaar hopes that this will change.

"I think the quality is here at the club," said the 28-year-old to Fifa.com.

"The only problem, like everyone seems to know, is the money issue - we need more players.

"Hopefully that will change in the next few years and the team can go on to challenge."

Since the club are under performing recently speculation surrounds Moyes future at the club and critics are starting to wonder if he has taken the club as far as he can in his nine years at Goodison Park.

But there is a degree of uncertainty regarding Pienaar’s future as well, as he is yet to sign an extension to his contract which runs out in the summer. But he believes that his manager can go on to great things in management.

"I think he's a workaholic, he works around the clock, and I think he deserves the two [manager of the year] awards he got," Pienaar continued.

"I think there is a lot more he will achieve and I think he will become one of the best managers in the world - I've never seen a coach work as hard as him."

On his own situation Pienaar said: "I've not enjoyed my football more than this before."
