Chelsea have put on hold plans to make a £15 million bid for Blackburn's Phil Jones after the youngster was ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, according to The Mirror.
Indian poultry giant Venky's, who own Blackburn, were prepared to listen to offers for the highly rated player, but the injury has put the Blues off making a move for Jones until the summer.
Blackburn caretaker boss Steve Kean said of the injury: "It's quite a nasty injury. He just landed awkwardly and all his weight went on the inside. We'll be lucky to see him again this season."
Carlo Ancelotti is expected to make moves in the January transfer window following his side's recent slump.
