Leighton Baines has called on his team-mates to put together a run of form that will pull Everton clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
Baines has been in good form of late and created Jermaine Beckford’s late equaliser against Chelsea on Saturday with a superb cross.
However, despite earning a vital point against the Premier League champions Everton remain only two points above the relegation zone after a poor start to the season. The defender has urged his team mates to pull together in the fight for Premier League safety.
"No more excuses or reasoning with it, it is time to start producing,” Baines told the Liverpool Echo.
"I am pleased enough with my form but it is about what the team is doing.
"Each and every one of us is desperate to put a run together.
Baines has acknowledged that the frustration of the current league position is starting to show and accepts that the players must turn things around quickly.
"The boss [David Moyes] is probably a bit frustrated," he added.
“He knows he has got a good group of players here and we are trying to put things right.
“Hopefully we can now do that sooner rather than later."
