Davies’ third and fourth goals of the season helped inspire Owen Coyle’s men to their third Premier League win of the season and lifted them to sixth in the table.
Steinsson believes much of Bolton’s good form this season is due their skipper, Davies:
“The skipper is a fantastic individual, not just on the pitch, but off it too. He’ll be remembered up there with some of Bolton’s greats,” he told Bolton's official website.
“He’s a credit to himself and is a great role model for myself. He keeps us going and is there driving us on.
“In training, on the pitch, in the dressing room, in the community he’s a wonderful man.”
Steinsson also scored his first goal of the season against Tottenham and believes that the crowd played a big part in Bolton securing three points:
“We’ve got a fantastic team spirit and the lads are really enjoying their football at the moment. I’d also like to think the fans are enjoying the football we’re playing too,” he added.
“The fans don’t realise how important they are to us. Even when Tottenham pulled two goals back they were still there roaring us on and that’s exactly what we need.
“We’ve now got to carry this momentum into the Everton game on Wednesday night.”
