Lucas has warned that Liverpool's win against Blackburn Rovers hasn't lifted the pressure after they stayed in the Premier League relegation zone.
Roy Hodgson enjoyed just his second league victory of the season on Sunday after goals from Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Fernando Torres. Despite the result, his side remained in 18th place.
Speaking to the club's official website, Lucas warned that much hard work lay ahead to save Liverpool's campaign.
"We were under a lot of pressure before Blackburn and to be honest we still are because we are not in a comfortable position in the table, but we believe in ourselves," he said.
"We'll go into the next game with a lot more confidence and hopefully we can win a few games in a row.
"The Premier League is so competitive. You can't name one game that's easy. I think it's the most competitive league in the world.
"Players who aren't here don't realise how physical it is. They only realise when they come here. It's a very difficult league to play in.
"But we have to go to Bolton and try to play the same way we did at Anfield and for sure if we do that we'll have a big chance of winning."
He added: "We are six points behind the top four and that shows how competitive the league is, so if we can get two or three wins in a row we'll be up there."
