Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is confident that he will be back in time for the weekend game against Bolton Wanderers.

The Denmark international had to withdraw from the squad before the Euro 2012 qualifier against Croatia owing to a hip injury sustained in training last week. Now the shot-stopper believes that he should regain fitness in time for the fixture against Owen Coyle's charges.

"It is a small tear in the hip area and an ultrasound scan showed there was some bleeding," Sorensen told The Sentinel.

"I'm walking all right, but it's the explosive work, like kicking and sprinting, which is a problem.

"The doctor in Denmark told me this injury usually lasts a week so there shouldn't be a problem for the weekend.

"It was a difficult decision to come home, but you cannot gamble on this sort of thing. I know I have made the right decision."

After beginning the season with three consecutive Premier League defeats, the Potters have gone unbeaten in their next four games - registering three wins in the process.

"We have turned a corner," Sorensen said. "Our last win against Blackburn was a great team effort. With good results comes confidence and you can definitely see the change."
