Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has ruled out a return to the Premier League, quashing rumours of a possible move to Manchester City.
The 23-year-old Spanish defender had been linked with an incredible £90 million switch to Eastlands. However, according to Sky Sports, the World Cup winner is happy at Camp Nou and has no interest in a Premier League return – despite the money on offer.
The ex-Manchester United man said: "I have heard the rumour but my head is in Barcelona.
"And it's not a question of money.”
City, who were apparently lining up a £50m transfer fee in addition to an £8m per year wage packet over five years, had apparently asked midfielder Yaya Toure to try and persuade Pique, after having made the same move in the summer.
However, Pique was not interested in a return to Manchester.
The news may come as a big blow to City boss Roberto Mancini, who had apparently identified Pique as his main transfer target - at least according to The People.
City face Newcastle United today in the Premier League.
