Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be monitoring Everton winger Steven Pienaar with a view to a cut-price move in January.
The South Africa international was linked with moves to a clutch of clubs during the summer, but remained at Goodison Park as the transfer window closed for business.
The 28-year-old is currently serving the final year of his contractual agreement with the Toffees, and the club could lose the player for free if he does not sign a new deal before the summer.
In the meantime, The Mirror claims that Spurs' chief scout Ian Broomfield has watched the winger over the weekend, as the club position themselves for a winter move for the former Borussia Dortmund and Ajax man.
Tottenham are currently in fifth place in the Premier League, while Everton are in 19th as they are yet to register their first league victory of the campaign.
