thumbnail Hello,

How would you line up Hodgson's team for the trip up the M62?

Times have not been good for Liverpool recently, but they have had excellent results against their fiercest rivals. In the last two seasons the Reds have secured three wins out of their last four games with Manchester United.

Roy Hodgson rested his big names for their Europa League match against Steaua Bucharest. Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher are just a few who look certain to return, despite the second string hitting four past the Romanians.

David Ngog may be hopeful his brace will earn him a place on the teamsheet, but Dirk Kuyt is still out after injuring his shoulder on international duty.

Here is the available squad:

Goalkeepers: Pepe Reina, Brad Jones, Dean Bouzanis

Defenders: Glen Johnson, Paul Konchesky, Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Jamie Carragher, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Stephen Darby, Martin Kelly, Danny Wilson

Midfielders: Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Lucas Leiva, Maxi Rodriguez, Ryan Babel, Christian Poulsen, Milan Jovanovic, Jay Spearing, Jonjo Shelvey

Forwards: Fernando Torres, David Ngog, Dani Pacheco, Ryan Babel

Here is Goal.com UK's prediction:

Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Konchesky; Gerrard, Poulsen; Maxi, Cole, Jovanovic; Torres

4-2-3-1
