Basel wonderkid Xherdan Shaqiri hopes his stunning Switzerland strike against England will reignite Liverpool's interest, according to the News of the World.
Shaqiri, 18, hit a 30-yard screamer against the Three Lions last week to give his team hope in the eventual 3-1 Euro 2012 qualifier defeat. This talent had alerted previous Anfield manager Rafael Benitez before he was given the boot this summer.
After showcasing his ability on the international stage, the Kosovo-born winger hopes current incumbent Roy Hodgson was watching. Shaqiri is available for a cut-price £2 million as his contract has just a year to run.
