Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in offering Steven Pienaar a return to their fold, if he is unable to come to a contractual agreement with Everton.
The South Africa international's contract at Goodison Park will expire next summer, when the winger would be free to join any club he wishes.
And while both parties have expressed hope of coming to an agreement, previous reports point towards neither party seeing eye-to-eye with the other when it comes to a matter of the player's wage demands.
Now talkSPORT claims that the Bundesliga club are willing to offer the former Ajax man a way out, if his contract situation with the Toffees remains unresolved.
Ironically, it was at Dortmund where Pienaar endured a rough weather in his career, before making a temporary move to Everton that was eventually made permanent.
