Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to express his displeasure at Wayne Rooney's recent alleged conduct when the England striker returns to Old Trafford from international duty, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.

The paper claims that Rooney will have to report to Ferguson almost immediately after he arrives home and before he faces his wife Coleen.

Ferguson is apparently keen to hear the truth about the allegations about the player's private life and wants to remind the player about his responsibilities as a Manchester United player.

The Scot will offer the player full support from the club, the report adds, but Ferguson is said to be angry and worried about the effect the situation may have on Rooney's mindset for the rest of the season.

Rooney has apparently not requested any additional time off from the club, however.
