Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is looking forward to the prospect of moulding his side into a stable Premier League outfit.

The Tangerines boss believes he has got the overall potential in his 24-man party to survive the threat of relegation this season.

Pool have brought in 12 new faces over the summer with eight internationals included in Holloway's squad.

The Seasiders' manager told the club's official website: "I'm delighted with the squad we're getting together.

"We've got eight internationals now, which Blackpool hasn't known for years and years.

"We couldn't have tried any harder; we couldn't have done any more. I've got to work with the people I've got now - and that's quite a relief.

"What I need to do is work a back unit, get the midfield together with them and then have a play around with the striking options I've got, because I've now got some.

"I'm genuinely excited and I'd like to thank Karl (Oyston) for his support."

Holloway is also excited with the return of DJ Campbell after the club signed the striker for an undisclosed fee from Leicester on transfer deadline day.

Campbell was the club's hero last season after scoring a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest in the Championship play-off semi-final, second leg at the City Ground.

The Pool boss believes the signing of the former Birmingham forward was crucial for the club.

"I've wanted DJ [Campbell] so badly, I think he suits us and he is absolutely vital for this football club and the energy at this football club," he said.

"Never is someone so well suited to a club as DJ is."
