Marc-Antoine Fortune believes that West Bromwich Albion are in a much better position to successfully fight a relegation battle than they were two years ago.

Fortune was on loan at the Hawthorns during the 2008-09 season when the club were relegated under Tony Mowbray.

The striker, who then followed Mowbray to Celtic before re-joining West Brom on a permanent deal last week, believes that the team stand a much better chance of staying up this time under boss Roberto Di Matteo.

"We know the mistakes we made," said Fortune.

"We have new players now and we're ready. It will be difficult but if we don't give up we'll be okay.

"The gaffer has a different way of managing the team [to Tony Mowbray]."

"I've only been here for one week, but I can see that the way we train and the way the manager wants to play is different.

"We have to be at 100% every training session - If we train hard like that we can be ready for every game.

"We also know that we have to be good defensively.

"We made mistakes in the past that we have to avoid now."

Thankfully, not a lot happened at Old Trafford while the reporters had their pre-match say. But what I can tell you, as proven by the #ScholesyforEngland hashtag, is that Paul Scholes is storming this game from the middle of the park. And we also have a Liverpool change - Charlie Adam is on for Dirk Kuyt.

David Lynch reports from Goodison Park: “Greetings from Goodison Park where an improving Everton host Champions League chasers Chelsea. The Toffees' expectations may well be higher than usual in meeting such illustrious opponents today given that their last home fixture was an impressive win over league leaders Manchester City. Chelsea's stuttering form will also give David Moyes' side something of a boost, with the Blues having thrown away a 3-0 lead to draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last time out. Unfortunately, new striker Nikica Jelavic is absent from proceedings today with a virus, failing to make even the squad. Everton will hope that Steven Pienaar and home advantage may just be enough to take them over the line.”
