The Football Association will not take any action about Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's accusations that Stoke City use "rugby" tactics, according to The Telegraph.

The Frenchman has slated the Potters' perceived long-ball approach and argued the pressure their players put on Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes was outside the pale.

He said: “It is more rugby on the goalkeepers than football.

“When you see the way [Ryan] Shawcross kicked Gomes, how Robert Huth pushed Gomes in the goal, you cannot say that is football anymore.”

This comment infuriated the Potters and led to manager Tony Pulis writing a letter to the governing body detailing his dissatisfaction.

Wenger would have been in line for punishment if his words had been seen to unduly pressure match officials. The FA have concluded his attack wasn't directed at referee Chris Foy and have declined to censure he has no case to answer.

I was fortunate enough to be at the Emirates for Arsenal's absolute walloping of Blackburn last week. Whether they can maintain that standard against a Sunderland team hell bent on rectifying their woeful start to the season, however, remains very debatable.

Our man Rob Stewart is at the game and he reckons it'll pan out 2-1. You agree?

Goal.com sage George Ankers has waded into the Manchester United front line debate, opining "I'll defend Michael Owen! Still my favourite footballer of all time. Give him a go!"

Seriously? I'm pretty sure there will be more chance of Sir Alex Ferguson calling Ole Gunnar Solskjaer out of retirement first.

Will he stay, will he go? I think I've read/heard every conceivable opinion of the Harry Redknapp story in the last few days. Either way, 'Arry has got a job to do at Spurs, who have lost their attacking verve in weeks gone by with the gaffer otherwise engaged.

Jermain Defoe reckons the team aren't the same without him. Do you guys think Tottenham will recapture the magic with their manager back in the dugout this afternoon? Tweet us at @GoalUK and let us know.
