Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste, a scorer in the shock opening day victory over Wigan Athletic, is to undergo a scan on a hand injury today.

The centre-back was with the Blackpool squad in Latvia preparing for a friendly match against FK Jelgava on Thursday when he injured his hand in training.

"DJ [Campbell] struck a shot in the last minute of training and it looks like he might of fractured his hand," manager Ian Holloway told the club's official website.

"We'll get him [Baptiste] back home for a hand specialist to have a look at him."

The Tangerines lost the game 2-1, although goalscorer Brett Ormerod was choosing to stay upbeat following the defeat.

"It's just a learning curve really, we've got a lot of young players coming back and a few lads coming back from injury" said Ormerod.

"But it was a good work out despite the result and we got a lot of things that we needed from the game."
