Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin admits Premier League has made him a 'less sparkling' player
Russian missing 'really beautiful' goals...
By Matt Monaghan
Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin has revealed the Premier League has made him "more effective, but less sparkling."
Arshavin, 29, moved to England in January 2009 after spending the rest of his career at hometown club Zenit St Petersburg. The highlight of his spell came against Liverpool a year ago when he grabbed all four goals in a 4-4 draw.
Speaking to Sport-Express, the attacker stated he had grown frustrated at his drought of "really beautiful" goals, though he was sure he is now a better player.
"The year and a half in England has significantly changed me," Arshavin said.
"I became calmer, more professional and spend more time with my family.
"As for football I can say that my style has also altered - it is more effective, but less sparkling. I don't remember when was the last time I scored a really beautiful goal.
"It is frustrating. I tried to analyse this, but can find no answers.
"It is likely that my injuries last year had an effect, because on three occasions I was out for a month, but it is feeble to talk about injuries."
