Roberto Martinez blasts transfer window & insists Charles N'Zogbia must prove to team-mates he is committed to Wigan Athletic
Midfielder must show that he still cares about the team, says Spaniard...

Charles N'Zogbia had been widely tipped to leave the Latics this summer, with the club even agreeing a fee with Birmingham City. The player, however, was unable to see eye-to-eye with the Blues over personal terms, which saw the move collapse.
Martinez admits he cannot blame players for wanting to leave clubs with the season already underway, but wants an overhaul of the system to avoid future situations developing.
"We are not helping the players at all," Martinez told Sky Sports News. "The transfer window should not be in the middle of important game for a football club. We can't blame the players for it, the authorities need to look into it.
"Charles is an extremely talented player. He has been called up for the French national team which is a huge achievement and down to his performances for Wigan. You are going to expect teams looking at him and others offering things.
"At the end he made the decision he wanted to stay. He felt it wasn't the right move and we have an extremely talented player who will have to fight for his place.
"It is not a time to blame individuals and footballers. It is a time to change the transfer-window timings. It is unfair on the players, the fans and the league.
"The window should close the Friday before the first game of the season. It will then allow you to focus on your team. At present it is unfair if players are distracted by possible interest from other clubs. It has not just happened at Wigan, it has happened all over the Premier League."
The Wigan boss believes that, while N'Zogbia remains an important player at the DW Stadium, it will take him some work to get back into the club's good books.
"He is an important player for Wigan," he said.
"Now it is a matter of him showing the players how focused and dedicated he is to help the team achieve things.
"Charles has been through a turbulent period but he wanted to stay at Wigan so his frame of mind is the right one.
"Now he has to show how ready he is on the training ground to see if he can be prepared to help the team get a result.
"You need to prove yourself, show how much you care about the team and the club before yourself and if you do that your talent will speak.
"When you have talented players like Charles N'Zogbia you want them in the football club and now it is down to him to show how much he wants to play for us."
