Kolo Toure insists Emmanuel Adebayor must battle for his first team place at Manchester City
Striker should stay at Eastlands...
By Zack Wilson
There have been reports that Adebayor was unhappy at City and looking to move this summer as his opportunities for first team football were being squeezed by the Eastlands outfit's off-season recruitment.
But having to fight for his place is something every footballer must expect, according to Toure, and Adebayor must stay and do his best to seal a spot in the side.
“Adebayor had a difficult season last year but he is working hard. He was nearly killed so he needed time to get over that," Toure told talkSPORT.
“He is happy at City and you will see a much better player this year. I’m sure he will be one of the best players in England this season – he will be back to his best.
“We are all top players here. When you play for a top club you need to fight for your place.”
