Official: Blackpool sign former Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Richard Kingson on one-year deal

Blackpool have signed Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Kingson on a free transfer.

The former Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City man has agreed a one-year contract with the option for a further year at the newly promoted Premier League club.

Kingson, who impressed at the World Cup in South Africa by helping Ghana reach the quarter finals, will provide cover for the injured Paul Rachubka.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway was on the look out for a goalkeeper and was rumoured to be interested in former Arsenal goalkeeper Richard Wright.

The 32-year-old, has been able to move to Bloomfield Road outside the transfer window as he is a free agent, has been included in Blackpool's 24-man squad.
