Christian Poulsen ready to make an impact on Liverpool's action-packed September schedule
Dane looking to build momentum on Merseyside...
By Zack Wilson
Hodgson's side will play six games this month in the Premier League, League Cup and Europa League, but Poulsen would not have it any other way.
The Danish international is looking for the Reds to embrace the challenge and pick up crucial points after the international break.
"We have a lot of games so with (Javier) Mascherano and (Alberto) Aquilani leaving we need quality players for the team because for the next six months we will have a game every four days," the Dane told his club's official website.
"It is important for a club who wants to play at the top of the Premier League and fighting for the Europa League to have strong players.
"I hope after the international break we can come strong again and pick up a lot of points up in the coming months."
The midfielder is also looking forward to improving his personal match fitness and playing more of a prominent role at Anfield.
"When I came here I had not played since the World Cup so I feel I need some time to get into the rhythm but last Thursday (in the second leg against Trabzonspor) I did better than in the first game," he added.
"I feel comfortable here. The match against West Bromwich Albion was the first game with Fernando Torres and the captain Steven Gerrard so you have to learn how they want the ball.
"Fernando is a strong player and can do things at speed and can do things one against one. You also feel Steven and Fernando have a good eye for each other and you saw that against West Brom - I hope it will get even better."
Follow all the build-up to another weekend of Premier League action, and keep up to speed with the continued fall out to Fabio Capello's resignation as England manager.

Matt Ladson: "It might not be needed, if Suarez doesn't start. If he does, I think they will. Whether they should or not is a whole other debate."
Ed Barker: "Only if Suarez starts - I suspect he will. And if that happens I believe that the players will shake hands. From a United perspective I'd like to see that happen, and for Patrice Evra to continue riding that moral high horse. He's got nothing to lose by shaking Suarez's hand."
