Roque Santa Cruz's loan move to Lazio has yet to reach completion with fresh sources stating he could stay at Manchester City.
Santa Cruz, 28, had been expected to miss the cut for the Blues' 25-man matchday squad and would be shipped out before the close of the transfer window. TMV reported earlier on Monday that the Paraguay World Cup 2010 striker had flown to Rome for a medical with the deal set to be wrapped up before tomorrow's deadline.
Sky Sports News have revealed they believe negotiations about the temporary switch were set to go to the wire as the two parties were not that far advanced, while The Guardian contradicted both by insisting Santa Cruz is giving serious consideration to staying with City as he is not prepared to leave the north west of England.
