Tottenham striker Robbie Keane is believed to be in favour of remaining at White Hart Lane, as opposed to going out on loan to Newcastle United.
The Tyneside club were thought to have been in talks with their London counterparts over a temporary move for the forward, with a season-long loan with the option of a permanent transfer reported to have been proposed.
However, The Northern Echo claims that the 30-year-old is hesitating to agree to a loan move to St James' Park, having already gone out on loan to Celtic during the second half of Spurs' campaign last term.
But with less than 48 hours to go before the transfer window closes, coupled with the club having been unable to bolster their front line as yet, the former Liverpool forward has reportedly told senior officials at the club that he would like to continue his career in north London.
It is thought that a permanent move away from White Hart Lane may sway the striker into making a move away from Spurs.
