Owen Coyle declared himself delighted after his Bolton Wanderers side fought back from two goals down to earn a draw against Birmingham City.

A penalty from Kevin Davies and a free-kick from Robbie Blake completed a remarkable comeback after goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen was sent off for slapping Roger Johnson.

Goals from Johnson and Craig Gardner had put Birmingham in command, but the response from Bolton clearly pleased Coyle.

"I felt we started the game sloppily: Birmingham scored from their first attack, and then we had numerous chances in the first half to get the equaliser, and then went down to ten men halfway through the first half," he told Sky Sports.

"We came out in the second half and started really well, and Birmingham's first foray up the park they went two nil up so we felt disappointed at that stage.

"But knowing the courage that these lads have got, and the bravery - a word I always use - and the desire, they've dragged themselves really in to the game."

Coyle also felt that his side actually deserved all three points on the balance of play, but was happy in the circumstances.

"I think if someone was to go and analyse that game we were probably worthy of the three points over the piece, but at two nil down with ten men we're absolutely delighted to salvage a point from it."
