West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker has revealed that the Hammers are set for a tough season in the Premier League this term.
The East London club narrowly escaped dropping down to the Championship last season and they have failed to gain any points after losing their first two fixtures of the new Premier League season.
“There's no hiding the fact this is going to be a difficult season," Parker told talkSPORT.
"We've not had the best of starts and there's no hiding the fact this is going to be a difficult season. But that's because of the quality of teams in this league."
The 29-year-old midfielder, who has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move away from Upton Park, admits that every game's going to be a "battle".
"Every game's a battle and it's going to be hard. Manchester United and Chelsea are not easy tasks, but we'll give it a go," he added.
"Man United is one of those places you love to go and play, but sometimes you dread it. We know it will be difficult, but we've got to go there, be organised and try to take our chances when we can."
