Shay Given to be refused Manchester City exit despite no longer being Roberto Mancini's first choice - report
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini won't allow Shay Given to leave until the January transfer window, despite having fallen down the pecking order at Eastlands.
The Sunday Mirror believes City are blocking any move for Given to team up with former boss Mark Hughes at Fulham, while Arsenal and Celtic are also rumoured to be interested in the Republic of Ireland international.
With Joe Hart starting the season as first choice in Mancini's side, Given is supposedly keen on a move away from Manchester and would have no shortage of suitors after his impressive form last season.
However, it appears City will prevent the former Newcaslte United shot-stopper from joining their rivals, with Mancini wanting the 34-year-old to wait until the mid-season transfer window before deciding where his future lies.
