Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted he is concentrating on his own form rather than the battle with Shay Given.

The shot stoppers are fighting it out to be first pick for manager Roberto Mancini, with the England international receiving the nod. After excelling in the 0-0 Premier League opening day draw with Tottenham, the 23-year-old is in prime condition to continue in the role.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Hart declared he wasn't getting distracted by the competition.

He said: "It's nice to be playing and I'm enjoying it at the moment. I'm aware that could change so I'm just doing my best.

"It's not difficult - not that I don't respect Shay - but I know that I just have to concentrate on my own game and keep trying to improve.

"I know for a fact that if I don't he'll take it [number one spot]. It's a difficult situation but I'm enjoying it at the moment."
