Arsenal left-back Armand Traore is heading closer to the exit door at the Emirates and towards a move to Benfica, according to his agent.

The 20-year-old is believed to heading to Lisbon to undergo a medical ahead of signing what is likely to be a four-year contract.

The fee is believed to be in the region of around £3.2 million.

The player's representative, Richard des Voeux, indicated that the move was at an advanced stage when speaking to the A Bola newspaper.

"A number of European clubs were interested in Armand but the Benfica option is more important in many aspects," he said.

"The interest is real and we are at a sensitive stage (of negotiations). Armand is aware of contacts between Benfica and Arsenal.

"Benfica are a wonderful club that would interest any player. Obviously, Armand is very interested and excited about the possibility of coming to play at Benfica.

"Nothing is finalised, but things can be decided very soon."
