Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez keen to be a Premier League trailblazer for Mexico
Youngster is hoping to buck trend of Mexicans failing to impress in England...
By Anthony Sciarrino
For the most part, Mexican players have found it difficult to do well in the Premier League over the years.
Carlos Vela has not emerged as a star with Arsenal and Giovani dos Santos was loaned out last season after struggling during his time at Tottenham.
However, Hernandez has already made a positive impression on the United supporters and the striker, who starred for Mexico at the World Cup in South Africa, wants to show his countryman that he can succeed in England.
"When I was young I always liked the English league and I always wanted to play here," Hernandez told Press Association Sport.
"That is why I am so happy I got this opportunity.
"But it also means that I can open doors to players in Mexico to make important teams over here think about looking at other players from my country."
